A teenager who was allegedly gang raped at a party has only recently learned the whole story of what happened to her after police found footage of the attack on a GoPro six weeks later.
The 16-year-old victim was invited to a house party by Tristan Carlyle-Watson, 26, who she had befriended over Facebook, Downing Centre District Court heard.
Along with two other men - Kurt Stevenson, 26, Andrew Waters, 24 - Caryle-Watson was accused of allegedly raping the girl, who had become intoxicated to the point of being unable to consent to the sex acts.
In a 17-minute film, recovered by police, a man can be heard saying ‘One by one we’ll all get a f***.’ Another man says to not film because he can’t afford to go to court.
Prosecutor Sharon Harris says the girl was unable to remember the evening, except for waking up when Carlyle-Watson attempted to put his penis in her mouth. Police say she was distressed to learn of the attack after the footage was found.
The defendants’ lawyers have each argued that the 16-year-old consented and was co-operating and all men charged have pleaded not guilty.
