“Tara has been approached by producers,” our insider reveals.
“They know she is a fan favourite, but they also thought it would be great to get Debbie on board too, to appeal across a whole range of ages.”
While a mother-daughter duo would be a first for the reality series hosted by comedian Julia Morris and The Living Room star Dr Chris Brown, it is believed Tara’s worried her mum could steal the spotlight.
“Tara’s not sure about Deb being on the show with her,” our source adds.
“She thinks Deb will overshadow her and Tara really wants a chance to win back the public after her bitter split.”
Tara and fellow reality star Sam Cochrane broke up in August after meeting in Fiji while filming Bachelor in Paradise. The pair have been at war ever since. Meanwhile, Deb, 58, who co-hosted Perfect Match back in the ’80s, is said to be excited about a return to TV.
“Deb would love a bit of a comeback,” the source continues.
“She loved the spotlight back in the day and is ready for more.” News of Tara and Deb’s jungle adventure comes after reports emerged that former Married At First Sight star
Nasser Sultan has also been approached for the series which will be filmed in South Africa.
“Network Ten does not confirm or deny any speculation about the identities of rumoured celebrities,” says a spokesperson for the network, adding the line-up will be revealed early next year.
