If there's a sweet eyeshadow trend to try this coming winter it's this one - purple! This sweet hue is about to explode. Indeed, searches for purple eyeshadow are up by a whopping 52 per cent on the image-sharing board Pinterest.
And you know what that means? Yes! It's a look we're about to see everywhere and really - it's easy to see why.
You see, purple can be worn bright and bold, but if you're more the soft and sweet type you can wear a soft lilac instead and yet still look not only pretty but very much on trend.
If you're a bold, bodacious type who loves to turn heads and in the best way possible, opt for a strong, true violet through to deep purple and wear this shade from lash line to brow.
Keep it rich and dark towards the lash and lighten as you move towards the brow for a modern ombre effect. Use an eyeshadow brush to blend or, if you prefer, a finger tip.
Those who work in conservative environments or simply prefer a more subtle look, add a touch of soft lilac to the upper lid only.
Blend carefully. If even that is a bit too much, apply a purple eyeliner along the upper lash line or even, along the water line of the lower lid. No matter which way you do it, you'll look modern and more importantly, pretty as a picture.

This transformative liquid eyeshadow morphs two marbleised shades into one shimmering violet made up of fuchsia and blue flip pearl. Perfect for those who prefer a subtle sparkle.
This sweet shadow is a true purple blended with a soft shimmer. And yet, it can layer to a decadent glitter. It even contains dazzling pearls that create shadows that catch and reflect light for a disco ball effect. Perfect for parties or after-dark events.
If you love a rich, true purple but you don't want to go overboard then you might like to consider a liner? Draw it along the upper lash line for eye definition and a surprising flash of colour. If you're feeling a touch more daring, apply it along the lower lash line too.
