The 14-second video is allegedly from a couple of years ago and shows an older gentleman snorting an unknown substance from a plate. The video was posted to the Facebook page NRL Memes on Monday night.
You can see the video HERE.
Although the video looks incriminating, father-of-four Stu Laundy told The Daily Mail Australia that it "is actually so harmless it's laughable."
The pub baron told The Daily Mail Australia that there was a simple and innocent explanation behind the man allegedly snorting powder from a plate.
Laundy alleges that while discussing "stories from his youth", the older man grabbed a common ingredient found in people's kitchen to bolster his yarn.
"He was telling this particular story about a bloke called Kevin and it required some props," Laundy told The Daily Mail Australia.
"I believe [he] got some flour from the kitchen to aid in his storytelling."
Shortly after the video was released Norman's new club, St George Illawarra Dragons, released a statement, which reads: "The St George Illawarra Dragons have been made aware of a video circulating on social media of Corey Norman from several years ago,"
"The Dragons informed the NRL Integrity Unit on Monday afternoon. The Integrity Unit have since confirmed they have previously been made aware of the footage and dealt with it accordingly at the time. The club will make no further comment."
