Sopranos star Frank Pellegrino has died aged 72 after a battle with lung cancer, Us Weekly reports.
The actor, played FBI Chief Frank Cubitoso on the hit TV series from 1999 until 2004. He also starred in 1990’s gangster-themed movie Goodfellas as Johnny Dio, and appeared on Law & Order: Criminal Intent in 2002.

Not only an actor, Pellegrino was a successful restauranteur, owning New York City celebrity favourite eatery Rao’s.
The restaurant was attended by stars including Woody Allen, Tony Bennett and Michael Douglas, and also appeared in Wolf of Wall Street.
Pellegrino is survived by his son Frank Pellegrino, Jr.
