She was the two-year-old who suffered horrific burns to 85 per cent of her body when a car slammed into her Sydney childcare centre.
But 13 years later, 15-year-old Sophie Delezio is set to star as an extra in the Dance Academy movie, shooting in Sydney.
"It is kind of an escape, being a character and all the things going on in your head don't matter as they're not relevant to the character," said the schoolgirl who has been shooting scenes with Tara Morice.
The teen, who lost both her feet, some fingers and her right ear in the childcare centre accident, suffered a further setback aged six when she was struck on a pedestrian crossing.
But she has never let her injuries get in the way of living life and she's been studying acting at NIDA and enjoys classes at a company called Stage Artz.
"I just want to have fun with acting," she says. "I don't care about fame and just want to meet good people and have fun."
