Singer Meatloaf collapses on stage in confirmed 'fainting episode'

Meatloaf, the 68-year-old American rock star, has collapsed on stage during a performance in Edmonton in Canada.
The singer, whose real name is Michael Lee Aday, was performing at Edmonton's Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium on Thursday night just before 10pm when he was seen dropping to the ground.
Edmonton Fire and Rescue confirmed they responding to an emergency call at the venue.
Alberta Health Services later confirmed they took a patient from the Jubilee to a hospital and added the patient had suffered from a 'fainting episode'.

Meatloaf had cancelled performances in Canda's Regina and Calgary earlier this week as a result of ill health.
Video footage from the performance show the singer crouching on his legs before reaching for the ground and then falling.
Said one concert goer, Jim Thibaudeau, 'Meat Loaf was having a great concert up to that point,' he said. 'It looked like he just got tired.'
