Shock revelation in Jamie Lynn spears tragedy
As Jamie Lynn Spears’ daughter Maddie continues to recover from her horrific accident, it’s been reported that she never should have been the driver of the ATV that left her critically injured.
According to TMZ, the Polaris All-Terrain Vehicle that the eight-year-old was riding when it flipped does not permit children under the age of 10 to drive or be a passenger in the vehicle.
The instruction manual for the RZR 170 reads: “Never allow a child under the age of 10 to operate or ride as a passenger in this vehicle.”
But although the minimum age requirements are clearly stated, the manufacturer also offers the following guidelines for use: “Permit continued use only if you [the parent] determine that your child has the ability and maturity to operate safely.”
Following the devastating incident which saw Maddie submerged in a pond for several minutes, TMZ have revealed that the vehicle’s manufacturer has faced lawsuits in the past after similar accidents occurred with other customers.
However, a spokesperson for Polaris said: “The safety of our riders is absolute top priority. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family.
Maddie is currently receiving treatment in hospital as is said to be in a stable condition.
