Disney actor Michael Manenuto has died at age 35.
The star – best known for playing Jack O’Callahan in Disney’s 2004 flick Miracle - was found dead in his car by police yesterday.
A Washington State coroner has revealed the cause of death as a self-inflicted gunshot wound, as TMZ reports that the death has officially been ruled a suicide.
A skilled hockey player, Manenuto's acting chops landed him the role in the sports film about the 1980 U.S. Olympic team's victory over the Soviet Union team.
Manenuto then went on to star in the 2006 movie Dirtbags, and play a small part in the 2008 comedy Surfer, dude, before enlisting in the army and joining the Special Forces.
Col. Guillaume Beaurpere, commander of Mantenuto’s army unit announced his death in a statement, saying:
“Those of you that knew Mike will remember him for his passionate love for his family and his commitment to the health of the force.”
Deadline reports that the star is survived by his wife, Kati, and two children, Ava and Leo.
