In February, Schapelle took to her own Instagram page to share her excitement about passing her driving test.
‘I got it. I passed. In QLD if your driver licence has expired over 5 years (as mine was) you need to 1. Do the written test. 2. Book in and Pass your driven test. From 'L' plates straight to Open licence,’ she wrote.
‘I’ve been home since May 2017, why has it taken me so long to get my licence?... well that'd be because I had a broken leg of course.
‘Leg is healing well & I’m so excited to have my independence. Now just need a car,’ Schapelle wrote, tagging car manufacturer Mercedes Benz in the post.
