Sam Armytage has posted a message, apparently directed at Waleed Aly, after he was accused of misquoting a politician.
Taking to Twitter Armytage linked to a Mamamia article, titled “That’s not what he said”: Julie Bishop accuses Waleed Aly of misquoting in heated interview.
She added: 'Journalists have a responsibility to quote correctly. Not just give their opinions.'
The tweet comes after The Project host came under fire for for allegedly misquoting minister for immigration and border protection Peter Dutton.
Foreign Affairs Minister Julie Bishop called out Waleed for, she says, falsely quoting Peter when she appeared on the Channel Ten news panel show this week.
'I want to ask you whether or not you think Peter Dutton was wrong to say Malcolm Fraser should not have let Lebanese Muslims into Australia in the 1970s?,' he asked the politician.
Julie was quick to respond: 'Well that's not what he said.'
