2017 has been a memorable year for Prince William and Duchess Kate. When we look back at this year, we can see that plans are already being put in place for the future king and queen.
It all began in February when Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her Sapphire Jubilee milestone. Celebrating the Queen’s 65th year of her reign was all about looking back on what had been achieved, but also looking towards the future reigning monarch.
In April the spotlight turned to the younger members of the Royal Family.
Prince William and his brother Prince Harry marked the 20th anniversary of their mother Princess Diana’s death with dignity and class. Clearly the future was in good hands.
The boys continued to prove they had inherited their mothers’ charitable pioneering spirit when they, along with Kate, launched the Heads Together campaign.
The mental health initiative saw the young royals sharing a candid conversation about their own struggles and encouraging an open dialogue around mental health. It signaled a fresh, new approach from the future leaders of the royal family
After the excitement of Pippa Middleton’s wedding, the future king and queen hit the road with their little ones in tow, touring the world on official duties.
By September the pair had some exciting news – a new member of the royal family was on the way!
After young Prince George started school, it appeared that Wills, Kate and their family were planting some roots and settling into a routine.
Could the Crown be far away? Only time will tell!
