Pregnant Kate Middleton wants to take a break from royal duties and Prince William is backing up her decision all the way – even to The Queen, Life & Style magazine is sensationally reporting today.

According to the publication, the 91-year-old monarch, while sympathetic, was concerned that Kate shouldn’t get too comfortable away from her duties, believing that – within reason – a strong work ethic should always come before personal discomfort.
Prince William stood up to his grandmother and it allegedly led to a rare exchange of frosty words between the two, who are said to get on very well.

“He told her Kate wants her public appearances kept to a minimum and that he’s 100 percent behind her. The conversation was quite icy,” claims the publication’s source.
But while she’s very sympathetic to Kate’s delicate condition, the Queen just doesn’t want her seeing a life away from duty as a long term option.
“She’s no-nonsense when it comes to her royal duties and those of the family,” a source told the publication. “She expects Kate to step up, like [the Queen] has.”
