The Prince of Wales and Camilla Parker Bowles touched down in Germany yesterday as part of a planned visit, and conversation swiftly turned to the arrival of Baby Sussex.

“We couldn’t be more delighted at the news and we’re looking forward to meeting the baby when we return,” the Prince of Wales told the press in Berlin.

Despite not being able to meet Baby Sussex, Charles and Camilla looked to be in good spirits whilst out and about in Berlin.

While in the country’s capital, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall were gifted with sweet baby gifts for them to take back to Meghan and Harry’s royal tot.

The Duchess, who looked utterly delighted with the adorable presents, ensured gift givers that: “As soon as we return I will deliver it to them, direct from Germany. I’m sure they will be thrilled.”

Back in Windsor, proud great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth shared her delight at the new royal baby as the Duke of Edinburgh joined her for a rare public appearance.

The reigning couple, who have just become great-grandparents for the eighth time, posed for a group photograph at Windsor Castle in Berkshire during a luncheon for members of the Order of Merit.

The Queen was quizzed about the latest royal arrival by former Prime Minister of Canada, the Rt Hon Jean Chretien.

“Life is good for Your Majesty?” Mr Chretien asked.
