As soon as news broke that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s royal baby had arrived on Monday, attention swiftly turned to a single burning question: what will they name Baby Sussex?
And while British bookmakers seem to be reporting a new favourite every hour, Sky News‘ Kay Burley believes she knows exactly what the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will call their first born son.
The TV journalist revealed she is confident the royal tot will be named Alexander Philip Charles.

Ms Burley said she was going with Alexander for “obvious reason” after British bookmaker Paddy Power announced the historic forename was their most popular bet, Express.co.uk reports.
Paddy Power spokeswoman Amy Jones told Sky News that “since the news broke that the baby was a boy, Alexander’s been the most popular.”
The name Alexander – of Greek origin, loosely meaning ‘defender of the people’ – has historical significance in the UK and the US, where California girl Meghan was born.
Alexander Hamilton was one of the Founding Fathers of the United States and played an integral role in the construction of the constitution.
Across the pond, Alexander is also a name of great historic importance with Prince George, Duke of Kent’s full name having been George Edward Alexander Edmund, and Prince William and Kate Middleton‘s first son Prince George of Cambridge’s full name being George Alexander Louis, Metro.co.uk reports.
Alexandra – the female iteration of Alexander – is also the middle name of Baby Sussex’ reigning great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II.
Later in the programme, Ms Burley also revealed the bets of others in the Sky News team, saying: “Our political editor Beth Rigby is going for Arthur because that is her little boy’s name.
“If the royal baby is called Alexander Arthur we will both be buying the drinks!”
Other strong contenders for the royal baby name include James, Philip, Oliver and the more unusual Spencer which is suggested as an homage to the birth surname of Harry’s late mother Diana, Princess of Wales.
