Prince Philip is known for his love of jokes and witty remarks. However, his banter has sometimes landed the Duke in hot water.
In fact, the now 98-year-old once made quite a rude joke about the Queen’s skin – and she wasn’t happy about it.
A 2007 report by the Daily Mirror, royal correspondent James Whitaker shared: “When Philip’s cousin Patricia Mountbatten remarked on Elizabeth’s flawless complexion, the Prince joked: ‘Yes, and she’s like that all over!'”
This isn’t the first time Prince Philip has cracked a joke of this nature.
In 1965 while visiting an exhibition of Ethiopian art, he commented: “It looks like the kind of thing my daughter would bring back from her school art lesson.”
Then in 1998, he asked a British student who had been trekking in Papua New Guinea: “You managed not to get eaten, then?”
And that’s not all.
In 1999 while touring the British Deaf Association, he told the children who standing near a Caribbean steel band: “If you’re near that music, it’s no wonder you’re deaf.”
Meanwhile, during a tour of Australia in 2002, the Duke asked a group of Aborigines: “Do you still throw spears at eachother?”
