On Tuesday King Carl Gustav celebrated his 73rd birthday and was joined by his son Prince Carl Philip, who decided to take a selfie of them both outside Stockholm Palace.
“Today we celebrate the King – father, father-in-law and grandfather. Happy Birthday!” he wrote alongside the selfie shared to his Instagram account.
The post received over 17,000 likes from delighted fans including one who wrote:
“Congratulations to the King! My children’s dad also has his birthday today. When they were little, it was a little fun.
“In the morning, we celebrated Dad, Dad’s birthday today. When they came to preschool, they had to learn that the King is having his birthday too. In the afternoon they said our dad is the king!”
“Happy birthday, and so a wonderful picture of father and son,” wrote another.
