The Queen opts for orange on latest outing

Her Majesty paired burnt toffee with a darker lip

Her Majesty the Queen is well known for her love of bright, bold colours.

So it may have come as a surprise for some to see her stepping out in burnt orange for her latest outing.

Queen Elizabeth II pared a toffee-coloured coat and hat with a darker shade of lipstick when she attended the weekly service at Crathie Church on Sep. 16.

As well as a string of pearls, the Queen wore a gold brooch on her ensemble – which was caught on camera as she was driven to the church by car.

While it’s not an everyday colour choice for Her Majesty, the Queen has been spotted in orange before – albeit normally of a lighter shade.

She was last seen in the bold hue on March 20 when she visited the Royal Academy of Arts in London.

Prior to that, in October 2015, The Queen again wore a lighter shade of orange to the QIPCO British Champions Day racing meet at Ascot Racecourse.

Prior to that there are not many sightings of the Queen in orange until we go back to 2002 when photographs of Her Majesty and Prince Philip show the couple waving to the crowds on the Queen’s Golden Jubilee.

Historic photos of the Queen also show she opted for orange when she visited India and went without shoes in 1997.
