Kate Middleton and Prince William’s 2011 royal wedding was watched by 23 million captivated viewers around the world, but the Queen took issue with one MAJOR feature – Kate’s dress!
A royal documentary has claimed that Queen Elizabeth so hated the Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding dress, she labelled it ‘horrible’.
Kate’s stunning vintage-inspired ivory wedding dress designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen featured a lace corset, floral lace sleeves and a three-metre long satin train.
However, in the documentary Wiliam and Kate: The First Year, when the Queen viewed Kate’s gown at a royal exhibition in Canada, the Monarch was heard saying: “It is horrible, dreadful!”
According to Express.co.uk, Daily Express royal correspondent Richard Palmer added: “[It was] just fantastic to see the Queen just talking normally and say what she thought rather than what the spin-doctors thought she ought to be saying.”
