A helicopter which had the Countess of Wessex on board almost collided with a glider.
The terrifying incident occurred outside of Cheltenham in the UK and saw the aircraft pilots forced to take “emergency evasive action.”

The incident involving the AugustaWestland AW109 helicopter was documented in an official report by the UK Airprox Board.
The report revealed: “The AW109 pilot took avoiding action by turning left to ensure separation. He noted that had they maintained course the risk of collision was high.”
The close shave occurred about 3.30pm on July 5, 2017, after the Countess of Wessex – who is Prince Edward’s wife Sophie – watched a farming demonstration in Overbury.
