The Duchess of York has thanked her any fans for their support, after raising an eye-watering amount of money for her charity Street Child.

Taking to social media yesterday, Sarah Ferguson announced she had raised nearly $4 million for Street Child, a charity that aims at helping children gain access to education.
“The amazing team @streetchilduk will be able to help thousands more children go to school and learn,” Fergie wrote on her emotional post, captioning an old photo of the royal on her trip to Sierra Leone.
The Duchess continued: “Thank you to everyone who supported the appeal and who continues to support Street Child’s work. During the appeal I visited schools supported by Street Child in Sierra Leone and met children whose lives are being transformed by having access to education.”
As a prominent member of the royal family, Sarah, 59, is a patron of many charities however those that aid children in developing countries seem to be her passion.
In particular, supporting Street Child has become a family affair, with daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie also becoming global ambassadors’ for the organisation.
