From celebrity rivalry, heavy boozing and major dance-offs, it certainly was the most eventful royal shindig of the century! On entry, all guests had to hand in their phones, so that no footage could emerge from the night’s revelry.

George Clooney, Oprah, James Cordon, Serena Williams, Priyanka Chopra, Elton John, the Beckhams and a handful of the Suits cast were allowed entry and it was a party to remember.

Highlights included when James Cordon, who was emcee for the night, instigated a dance-off between royals Harry, William and their dad Charles.

‘Everyone was laughing because it’s something no-one expected. Meghan and her mum also joined in. Then everyone danced, which really kicked off the party,’ a source told The Sun.

George Clooney whisked both the bride and the Duchess of Cambridge onto the floor for a boogie, after Whitney’s I Wanna Dance With Somebody began playing for the first dance. Elton John later played a medley of his hits, with Harry shouting, ‘Can anyone play the piano?’ before the star hit the stage.

Actor Idris Elba then took over the DJ decks, with his playlists filled with soulful classics from the 1960s, some R&B and hits from the ’80s.

And when the guests became too tired to dance, they were given soft fluffy slippers to slip into, a special detail thought up by Meghan herself.

Champagne flowed all night, as did a tongue-in-cheek ginger cocktail named When Harry Met Meghan, and guests also dabbled in ‘beer pong’, with Serena Williams acing the game.

‘Serena played beer pong like it was tennis. Everyone had so much fun,’ the source added.

Unfortunately, beer pong wasn’t the only rivalry of the night, with Camilla and Kate frosty towards each other after a heated argument earlier in the day. ‘Kate did her best to ignore Camilla as she didn’t want to ruin Harry and Meghan’s special day,’ says a source.

Speeches included Harry saying to his friends: ‘You are the people that make ‘me’ me in my Harry life, which as you know is the backbone to Prince Harry. Now I’m going to hand over to my far better half…’

Meghan then gave a speech where she thanked the royal family for welcoming her into the fold.

Fireworks lit up the sky over Windsor

Guests partied into the wee hours, but according to one attendee: ‘Harry and Meghan went about midnight, shattered and madly in love. It was quite some bash.’
