Welcoming a child is a big moment in anyone’s life. And for Meghan Markle there’s one person she wants by her side every step of the way – and surprisingly, it’s not Prince Harry.
As the Duchess of Sussex prepares to give birth, it is understood she has insisted her mother, Doria Ragland, be in the delivery room with her.
In fact, Doria is expected to arrive in the UK from LA any day now to help prepare her daughter for the big day and to ensure she doesn’t miss the special moment.
Last week, The Sun revealed Doria, 62, has been taking pregnancy massage lessons and has been learning all about pressure points for pain relief and breathing techniques.
The 62-year-old, who is also an avid yoga fan like her daughter, is said to be excited to become a grandmother and has promised Meghan and Harry she will stay in the UK for as long as they need her.
It is also believed Doria was the one to encourage the former Suits star to have a “natural birth” using hypnobirthing techniques such as meditation, instead of drugs to ease the pain.
“Doria plans to be around a lot when the baby arrives,” a source previously told Vanity Fair, adding she may also move into Frogmore cottage.
“There are plans for her to have a dedicate space at their new home. She wants to be on hand to help Meghan and Harry with their baby.”
