While Meghan appears to be breaking some royal birthing rules, it seems her husband Prince Harry won’t be getting off the hook that easy.
In fact, the Duke of Sussex has a very important task he must perform as soon as Meghan gives birth – he must call the Queen right away.
The new dad will need to directly inform his grandmother of the little ones safe arrival and also reveal the gender of the baby before the couple share their exciting news with any other member of the royal family.
“What normally happens is that there is an encrypted phone that cannot be tapped and he (Harry) will tell her (the Queen) whether its a boy or girl,” royal historian Kate Williams told a new documentary Secrets of the Royal Babies: Harry and Meghan.
It is not until after Harry has spoken to Her Majesty that the new parents will get to spend some alone time with their baby.
The news comes after it was reported that Meghan has hired a doula as part of her natural way of giving birth.
A doula is a woman who provides support and guidance to the mother of a newborn through the pregnancy, birth and the early days of parenthood.
