Royal fans are convinced Meghan Markle will give birth this weekend after the Duke of Sussex suddenly cancelled his visit to the Netherlands scheduled for May 8 just days after announcing the trip.
But with details of the royal baby’s birth still shrouded in secrecy, doctors have warned that the Duchess – who is believed to be overdue – may have to be induced, a move that would shatter Meghan’s longstanding plan for a home birth at Frogmore Cottage.
A senior Palace source told The Mirror’s Royal Editor Russell Myers that while “it’s hoped that nature will take its course over the next few days…if not Meghan will be able to attend a local hospital which has already been arranged.”

Last night, the UK Telegraph cited a London obstetrician as saying if the Duchess doesn’t give birth within the next 48 hours she may need to be induced.
With uncertainty reigning over all aspects of the latest royal arrival, British bookmakers have stopped taking bets on Baby Sussex’ due date.

If Meghan does need to be induced it’s thought she will be taken to NHS Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey, just 30 minutes drive from Frogmore.
The choice of Frimley, a 938-bed public hospital, was initially regarded as surprising – a world away from the ultra-exclusive $11,000 AUD per night Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in London where Meghan’s royal sister-in-law the Duchess of Cambridge welcomed her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
Nevertheless, Frimley has still seen some very notable births including the two children of Prince Edward – the youngest child of Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh – and his wife Sophie, Countess of Wessex.

The Sun reports Meghan is still “comfortable” at home with Prince Harry by her side.
The flurry of reports come amid claims Prince Charles may be overseas for the birth of his fourth grandchild.
Clarence House previously announced the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall would visit Germany touring Berlin, Leipzig and Munich from May 7 until May 10.
