Queen Elizabeth II has officially given her consent for Prince Harry to wed Meghan Markle using their real names.
Harry must be granted permission from the Queen to wed under the Succession to the Crown Act.
The Queen issued a letter from Buckingham Palace showing her full support to her ‘dearly beloved’ grandson and his fiance.
‘My Lords, I declare My Consent to a Contract of Matrimony between My Most Dearly Beloved Grandson Prince Henry Charles Albert David of Wales and Rachel Meghan Markle, which Consent I am causing to be signified under the Great Seal and to be entered in the Books of the Privy Council,’ the letter read.
The letter also reveals the actress’ real name is Rachel, and her middle name is Meghan.
The royal wedding will take place on May 19th, 2018, at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.
Kensington Palace confirmed that immediately after the ceremony, Prince Harry and his bride will complete an open carriage ride through the surrounding streets, which they encourage the public to attend.
‘Prince Harry and Ms Meghan Markle are hugely grateful for the many good wishes they have received since announcing their engagement,’ Kensington Palace has said. ‘They are very much looking forward to the day and to being able to share their celebrations with the public.’
