Her Majesty the Queen is known for her love of bright bold colours.
But anyone seeing photos of her heading to church on Sep. 9 may have been a little confused.
Because, quite simply, it appears the 92-year-old monarch’s coat changed colour half way through.
Photos of the occasion show Queen Elizabeth II arriving at Crathie Kirk in Scotland before attending a Sunday morning church service with Autumn Phillips, the wife of Peter Phillips – who is the elder child and only son of Princess Anne.
In one shot, the Queen can be seen sitting merrily in the back seat of the car in a bold blue coat and hat with what appears to be a black trim.
But then things get weird.
More photos from the same occasion show her Majesty rocking mauve not blue.
Yep that’s definitely purple…
Or is it?
Looks blue again here…
No hang on…
PURPLE!
Whilst the seemingly lightning-fast costume change was no doubt simply a trick of the light, it does raise the question – what colour was the Queen actually wearing?
She has been spotted in both purple AND blue previously.
Take this rather jaunty purple outfit Queen Elizabeth wore to this year’s Epsom Derby at Epsom Racecourse in the UK in June.
A month later, she was spotted in blue as she stood alongside Meghan Markle on the balcony of Buckingham Palace to view a flypast to mark the centenary of the Royal Air Force.
Which makes us think that maybe it was time for her Majesty to whip out the mauve again….
Or maybe not…
Oh noooo. It’s giving us flashbacks to THAT dress!
Perhaps it’s time for a lie down.
