Princess Marie of Denmark, Crown Princess Mary and Crown Prince Frederik’s sister-in-law, has suffered a tragic loss after their pet dog, Apple, passed away over the weekend.
In a statement released by the Royal Communications Department, Marie and husband Prince Joachim of Denmark announced that their 14-year-old bichon frise pup passed away.
“We can confirm that Apple, unfortunately, died on Saturday,” the press release read.
According to reports, Apple was an integral member of the oryal familym and even featured in Pinrcess Marie’s 40th Birthdtay photshoot back in 2016.
According to the publication, Apple was honoured with her own special chair for the shoot, while Princess Marie’s daughter Athena sat in her mum’s lap.
HELLO! magazine reports that Marie considered Apple her “faithful companion”.
