The Duke and Duchess’ heartfelt message comes after it was revealed many residents have started returning to their homes after severe bushfires destroyed them.

Rainbow Flat couple Peter and Lyn underwent the heartbreaking task of returning to their home to see the damage first hand on Sunrise on Monday morning.

When Sunrise presenter Matt Doran mentioned that the couple had lost all of their possessions, Peter replied by saying he was devastated before adding: “it’s only things.”
