The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge announced that they will christen their third child, Prince Louis at St. George’s chapel on July 9th and the date has a sentimental significance for the royal family.
The celebration will be an opportunity for fans of the royals to see Kate Middleton, Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and of course, The Queen and Prince Philip. July 9th is a special anniversary for Elizabeth II, it’s the same day she announced her engagement to the Duke of Edinburgh back in 1947.
The chapel is steeped in royal history. It was the setting for Queen Victoria’s wedding in 1840 to Prince Albert. Interestingly, Kate and Will’s older children we christened at different chapels, with Prince George was christened in the Chapel Royal, while Princess Charlotte was baptised at Sandringham in Norfolk.
