It has only been a week since they tied the knot in a spectacularly lavish, celeb-filled royal wedding.
But, despite the ink barely being dry on their marriage certificate, a smitten Prince Harry is already planning to whisk his new wife Meghan away on a US$1 million luxury multi-destination honeymoon.
While Kensington Palace may have revealed the newlyweds would not embark on a romantic getaway directly after their May 19 nuptials – indeed, just three days after the ceremony, the couple were back to royal duties, attending Prince Charles’ 70th birthday celebrations at Buckingham Palace – New Idea
Duke and Duchess of Sussex are heading for a honeymoon in remote but beautiful Namibia, a celeb favourite, with stars such as Charlize Theron, Angelina Jolie, and Brad Pitt all having holidayed there in the past.
‘Harry and Meghan want to go ‘glamping’ under the stars in the former German colony of South West Africa, one of the least populated countries in the world for its size,’ reveals royal expert, Phil Dampier.
‘The couple adore Africa and the prince wooed Meghan in Botswana, which he knows well. They would love to go to Namibia because, with the right guides, they can escape from the press and enjoy themselves.’
And what with all the tensions leading up to the wedding – including the news that Meghan’s father, Thomas Markle, had pulled out of walking his daughter down the aisle after undergoing heart surgery – sources reveal that Harry is determined to make their honeymoon the trip of a lifetime and is sparing no cost.
‘Harry isn’t holding back when it comes to splashing out,’ an insider revealed to Life & Style.
‘He’s willing to spend as much as US$1 million to make it perfect.
‘They’ll be surrounded by mountains, sand dunes and wildlife, and will enjoy candlelit dinners in complete seclusion,’ continues the source, who also added that the prince is planning to fill their days with safaris, horse riding and private tours.
And that’s not all.
Harry, 33, is planning to spoil Meghan, 36, with a relaxing trip to the Seychelles – the same destination where William and Kate spent their honeymoon in 2011 – following their African adventure.
‘They’ll stay in a multimillion-dollar mansion that comes with a private chef, masseuse and driver,’ reveals the source.
‘They’ll stroll on beautiful white sand beaches on the Indian Ocean and enjoy five-star treatment.’
And there’s even whispers that the honeymoon could turn into a babymoon.
‘Harry and Meghan have talked about starting a family immediately…They don’t want to wait around.’
