The newlyweds are expected to join Queen Elizabeth, and other members of the royal family, for the military parade, held in honour of the Queen’s birthday.

The occasion will also mark the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s first public appearance since their honeymoon.

Unlike the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Harry and Meghan did not share a traditional kiss on the Buckingham Palace balcony on the big day after choosing Windsor as their venue.

Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana began the tradition of sharing a kiss on the Buckingham Palace balcony following their 1981 wedding.

Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson followed suit in 1986, with Kate and William carrying on the tradition in 2011.

A source told the Mirror, ‘There will be huge interest in seeing the newlyweds after the magic of their wedding.

‘The balcony appearance is the perfect symbol of how Meghan has been welcomed into the family.’

Meghan is also set to make royal history next week.

It’s been reported that the Duchess of Sussex will be traveling with Her Majesty on the royal train.

Although she has enjoyed several meetings with the Queen and spent time with her at Windsor Castle, the overnight journey will be unprecedented for Meghan.

It will provide the queen for a chance to spend some ‘quality time’ with Harry’s new bride, with relatively few interruptions.

Only the most senior members of the Royal Family – namely the Queen, Prince Philip, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall – are entitled to use it.

Harry, Kate and William are not believed to have ever used it for an official event.

The Queen and Meghan will be undertaking three official engagements in Cheshire next Thursday, and it will be Meghan’s first official event without her husband Prince Harry.
