Prince George has made a nice short his signature style, but as it turns out, the little 5-year-old Prince is BANNED from wearing trousers in public and the reason may surprise you!
The firstborn son of Kate Middleton and Prince William is currently third-in-line to the throne, and as arguably the most important young royal amongst all the mini royal clan, Prince George must abide by old English etiquette.
Speaking with Harpers Bazaar in 2018, etiquette expert William Hanson explained why Prince George must wear shorts over trousers at all times: “It’s a very English thing to dress a young boy in shorts.
“Trousers are for older boys and men, whereas shorts on young boys is one of those silent class markers that we have in England.”

Hanson continued: “Although times are (slowly) changing, a pair of trousers on a young boy is considered quite middle class – quite suburban.
“And no self-respecting aristocrat or royal would want to be considered suburban. Even the Duchess of Cambridge.”
