With rumours rife that Princess Mary is ready to reign and become queen of Denmark, recent pictures show that perhaps husband Crown Prince Frederik is not quite as happy to become the king.

With the pair looking visibly stressed, the prince has previously expressed that he is not looking forward to the extra responsibility, while Crown Princess Mary is clearly ready to step up to the plate.
Could he be jealous of his wife’s increasing popularity?
Queen Margrethe, on her 79th birthday, toasted the couple and hinted that she wants them to take over after her next birthday.
“You are ready and you will be amazing at your job,” an emotional Margrethe apparently told her son and daughter-in-law.
“I trust you and feel secure handing over to such a wonderful couple.”
