Fearing his accession to the throne is under threat, Prince Charles has ordered Camilla to join him on his upcoming trip to Australia as a show of her support.
Royal sources tell New Idea that Camilla, who has a well- known dislike for long-haul travel, originally planned on staying in Britain while Charles attended the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in April.
But with his place as future head of the Commonwealth currently under threat, Prince Charles has decided to pull rank and called for reinforcement from his wife.
‘With recent reports revealing that the Commonwealth nations are under no obligation to accept the Prince of Wales as their head after the Queen passes away, Charles is now in damage-control mode,’ says a source.
‘He knows it would be a bad look for Camilla to not come and play the role of supporting wife on this trip and has demanded that she join him – he does not want to jeopardise his inherited right to become king or head
of the Commonwealth.
