Prince Charles has been hit by an alleged love child scandal, after a US media outlet today published sensational claims that he may have fathered a child out of wedlock.
According to the publication, Buckingham Palace has been thrown into chaos by suggestions that Prince Charles may have fathered a child with a Canadian woman. The Queen is said to be outraged by the claims – although the Palace has yet to make any public statement on the matter.
Canadian Janet Jenkins met Charles in 1975 and according to Globe, supposedly carried on a lengthy on-and-off affair with the royal for nearly two decades. In 1984, she gave birth to a son, Jason, who is said to bear an uncanny resemblance to Charles.
“I was Charles’ lover for 16 years,” Janet is quoted by the publication as saying. “Ours was a long-distance romance… clothes used to be just ripped off and left where they dropped. At the time, neither of us used birth control or other protection. It was before AIDS and we just didn’t think about it.”
When asked if Jason was Charles’ son, Janet reportedly replied, “It’s no one’s business but mine.”
Janet is 70 and now living in Toronto, but she did reportedly attend Charles’ wedding to Diana in 1981.
The pair continued to see each other on the sly after the nuptials at St. Paul’s Cathedral, and she says the last time they were “sexually intimate” was in July 1992 when Charles invited her to Highgrove for a weekend.
