Prince Charles has given voice to the grave fears he holds for the unborn baby of his son Prince Harry and his wife Meghan, now the Duchess of Sussex.
Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall are currently on a nine-day tour of West Africa.
Speaking at a meeting of officials and leaders in Ghana, the prince spoke candidly of the fears he holds for the next generation.
“I am about to have another grandchild,” Charles said.
“It does seem to me insanity if we are going to bequeath this completely polluted, damaged and destroyed world to them. All grandchildren deserve a better future.”
The Prince went on to say that surely there was a need to urgently prioritise the conservation and protection of the ocean.
“The legacy of plastic is now on the global agenda,” Prince Charles added.
“A solution is achievable and simply has to be done for all our sakes.”
