A new book from author Andrew Morton reveals details on Meghan Markle’s first marriage to Hollywood producer Trevor Engelson.
Morton, who is famous for writing Princess Diana’s tell-all biography Diana: Her True Story, has penned a new biography that chronicles the life of Markle ahead of her upcoming May wedding to Prince Harry.
The book claims the 36-year-old Suits actress dumped her first husband, Trevor Engleson, which came “totally out of the blue”.

“He went from cherishing Meghan to, as one friend observed, ‘Feeling like he was a piece of something stuck to the bottom of her shoe’,” Morton wrote.
“Whether she wanted to admit it to herself or not, Meghan, who once said she couldn’t imagine life without Trevor by her side, was now building a new world for herself.”
Morton also wrote: “A wealthy entrepreneur friend claimed the marriage ended so abruptly that Meghan sent Trevor her diamond wedding and engagement rings back by registered mail.”
The author also revealed in his new book that Markle has plans to become the next “Princess Diana 2.0”, while a former friend of Markle’s also claims she is a “social climber” who is “controlling” and “fastidious”.
