Meghan Markle has clearly won over Her Majesty’s heart, receiving a huge tick of approval overnight.
Just last week, Meghan and Queen Elizabeth II embarked on an overnight train ride from London to Cheshire to attend a royal event. While there, the two were seen laughing as they participated in their first joint royal engagement.
Now, the Queen has taken their relationship one step further.

It’s been announced that the Duchess of Sussex will fill in for Her Majesty to present awards to young people across the Commonwealth who have done ‘exceptional work’ in their respective countries.
Both Meghan and Prince Harry ‘will welcome those in the Queen’s Young Leaders program to Buckingham Palace this summer, continuing the role started by the Queen during her lifetime of service to the Commonwealth nations.’
It’s a huge honour that Meghan has been chosen for this royal duty, as it can be seen as a huge vote of confidence from royal watchers. The initiative is known to be very close to the Queen’s heart since its inauguration five years ago.
The award aims to honour those ho have made changes to their communities, in mental health advocacy, tackling violence against women and saving lives.
It had previously fallen on the Queen to welcome the participants of the Young Leaders’ program to Buckingham Palace, but it’s understood she’s now passed the responsibility over to the royal newlyweds.

In a statement, Harry said: ‘In my new role I will work to support The Queen, my father The Prince of Wales, and my brother William, all of whom know that young people are the answer to the challenges of today.’
