Meghan Markle has made a difficult decision in order to protect her husband Prince Harry and her son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
Sadly, the Duchess of Sussex will never introduce baby Archie to her father Thomas Markle.
A source close to the royal family told The Sun that “It’s a terribly sad situation but Meghan has made the very difficult decision that she doesn’t have an active relationship with her father any more.”
“This was actually a decision she made some time ago and it is something she’s now coming to terms with,” the insider added.
“It’s obviously heartbreaking for her but she has to protect herself, her husband and her son.
“Thomas hasn’t met Harry and it’s unlikely he’ll meet Archie either.”

Meghan has had a strained relationship with her father since his actions leading up to the royal wedding last year.
The 75-year-old failed to walk his daughter down the aisle after doctoring a fake paparazzi photo and citing health issues as the reason for not attending.
Thomas spoke to the Mail on Sunday about his disappointment at his severed relationship with Meghan and made several scathing remarks about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
“There was never any problem between Meghan and me until recently,” he said.
“I’ve stayed quiet because Meghan was pregnant with Archie but I’m speaking out now because they and their PR people are continuing to ghost me out of her life.
“Of course I’m disappointed not to see Archie. I had hoped becoming a mother would mellow Meghan and she would reach out,” he confessed.
The lighting director also raised the fact that Prince Harry has never made an effort to meet him.
“I’ve still never met my son-in-law. Why couldn’t Prince Harry have got on a plane and flown to see me to ask for her hand? He obviously has no problem getting on private jets,” he said, adding “There are dozens of commercial flights from England to San Diego and Los Angeles every day.”
Thomas – who was previously married to Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland – isn’t taking his daughter’s snub lightly.
“I don’t want anything from Meghan or Harry but I’m not going to shut up until the whole truth is out there,” he said.
“No father deserves this kind of abuse when he’s been that good to his daughter.”
Despite also calling Meghan “hypocritical,” Thomas insisted that he wants to reconcile with his beloved ‘Meggie’.
“I love my daughter. She’s my baby,” he told the publication.
