She bid farewell to her much-followed social media accounts and beloved lifestyle blog The Tig as she prepared to become Prince Harry‘s wife, but it seems Meghan Markle couldn’t stay away from online sharing for too long.
Eagle eyed fans have noticed a number of clues which indicate the heavily pregnant Duchess is running the official @SussexRoyal Instagram account which launched earlier this month.
According to royal commentators at People Magazine, the American spellings of certain words in the Sussex photo captions are a dead giveaway that California-born Meghan is at the helm of the page.
The dedicated account has written “organization” instead of “organisation” on a number of occasions, as well as spelling “re-energized” as opposed to the traditional English “re-energised”.
The latest Sussex Royal post thanked fans for their donations to children’s charities, which the couple asked for in lieu of gifts for the royal baby.
Tellingly, the caption referenced both dollars and pounds.
“Whether a $5 donation, £1000 contribution, offering to volunteer, or spreading the word – you’ve played your part,” the post read.
Likewise, the tone of many statements shared to the page are highly aspirational and refer to making a small difference in the world – something Meghan is well known to be passionate about.
People also claim the free use of emojis suggests the former Suits actress is behind the platform.
While other royal pages like Kensington Royal – the official account of Prince William and Kate Middleton – generally avoid the use of graphics, socially savvy Meghan is more familiar with how to craft statements having ran multiple successful accounts for years.
Whoever is behind the account, it’s working a treat.
