British politicians usually make a point never to criticise members of the royal family, so when Brexit party leader Nigel Farage lashed out at Meghan Markle and Prince Harry at Sydney’s Conservative Political Action Conference, people were suitably shocked.
WATCH: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry must ‘stop moaning’
Nigel Farage derided the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, dubbing Prince Harry the ‘Prince of Wokeness’, as well as launching fresh attacks on Prince Charles and the Queen Mother.
In his speech, the conservative politician took aim at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s social justice and environmental campaigns calling their calls to action ‘irrelevant’, as well as heavily criticising Prince Harry’s announcement that he would have “two kids, maximum”, due to the large carbon footprint of a big family.
In his speech, Farage said that the new father used to be a “young, brave, boisterous” man, but since meeting the former Hollywood actress he’s “fallen off a cliff”.
“Here was Harry, here he was this young, brave, boisterous, all male, getting into trouble, turning up at stag parties inappropriately dressed, drinking too much and causing all sorts of mayhem,” Nigel’s speech began.
“And then, a brave British officer who did his bit in Afghanistan. He was the most popular royal of a younger generation that we’ve seen for 100 years.
“And then he met Meghan Markle, and it’s fallen off a cliff.
“We’ve been told in the last week that Meghan and Harry will only have two children … and we’re all completely ignoring, the real problem the Earth faces.
“That is the fact the population of the globe is exploding but no one dares talk about it, no one dares deal with it, and whether Prince Harry has two kids is irrelevant given there are now 2.6 billion Chinese and Indians on this Earth.”
Nigel quickly followed his outburst with another barrage of insults, this time directed towards Prince Charles and the Queen Mother.
Condescendingly referring to the Prince of Wales as ‘Charlie Boy’, Farage then mocked the Queen mother, calling her “a slightly overweight, chain-smoking gin drinker who lived to 101 years old.”
Oh dear.
