Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are about to undertake their first royal tour since the birth of their son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, and Royal fans can’t wait to see the young family on their first adventure.
The trip will be a special one for the Duke of Sussex, as South Africa was a place his late mother Princess Diana visited many times, with rumours suggesting that much of the trip will be following in the Princess of Wales footsteps.

The Sussex’s have already confirmed that baby Archie will be accompanying them on their African tour, writing on Instagram: “This will be their first official tour as a family!”
Even though we can expect to see Archie in South Africa, rumour has it that Prince Harry intends to perform his royal duties in Malawi and Angola without the Duchess of Sussex and his firstborn.
Here is everything we know about the Sussex’s trip to South Africa so far:
The tour begins on September 23
An official statement by Buckingham Palace already stated that the Sussex’s will commence their tour of South Africa, Botswana, Malawi and Angola on September 23, and will finish October 2.
Where will the tour begin?
We know that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will begin their royal tour in South Africa, and Prince Harry will finish solo in Malawi and Angola. The Royal will also briefly attend Botswana on a “short working visit”.
Prince Harry’s solo schedule: Malawi, Angola and Botswana
The official schedule is yet to be released, but Prince Harry is currently expected to visit the following charities:
- Highlight wildlife conservation efforts as President of African Parks and Patron of Rhino Conservation Botswana
- Visit the MOD-African Parks ranger training in Malawi
- Introduce a new Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy initiative between Namibia, Botswana, and Angola to protect the Okavango Delta
- Discuss socio-economic and environmental challenges with young leaders as President of the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust
- Meet with young people as the Commonwealth Youth Ambassador
- Meet with African partners with the U.K. working on conservation issues in Botswana and Malawi
- Meet a British military unit in Malawi helping local rangers and pay tribute to late guardsman Matthew Talbot, who died during counter-poaching operations this year
- Honour his mother Princess Diana’s work with raising awareness about landmines in Angola
Meghan Markle’s schedule
While Harry plans on following in his mothers footsteps, Meghan is expected to meet with a series of female leaders and academics, as the Royal is a patron of the Association of Commonwealth Universities.

As a couple, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle intend on raising awareness ahead of the U.K.-Africa Investment Summit in 2020, by visiting projects that encourage youth employment, education, health, and more.
