Unlike her sister-in-law Kate, Meghan has been in no rush to shed her baby weight.

She’s stepped out at various events proudly showcasing her small post-baby bump, but now, 12 weeks post-partum, the former actress is ready to get back in shape.

Although she’s putting no pressure on herself to lose weight quickly, Meghan is confident that she can shed the kilos effortlessly, but she’s determined to do it in a realistic and functional way.

To kick-start her weight loss, she’s likely to do the ‘21-day clean cleanse’ of which she’s a big fan. “I started working with Dr Alejandro Junger of the Clean Cleanse,” she admitted previously.

During the cleanse, each day Meghan will typically have two shakes and one meal, along with supplements and probiotics for 21 days.

Following this, in the past Meghan has maintained her lithe physique by consuming mainly a vegan diet. “I try to eat vegan during the week and then have a little bit more flexibility with what I dig into on the weekends,” the former Suits star revealed.

She follows a fairly regimented plan and generally starts her day with a nutritious breakfast. When asked what she typically starts the day with, she said: “Acai bowl, clean cleanse shake, or a green juice. If I’m at a hotel I will likely order poached eggs and toast with avocado.”

For lunch or dinner Meghan’s favourite go-to meal is a vegie quinoa dish.

“At the start of each week, I generally cook a box of quinoa and while it’s simmering, I saute onions, garlic and any vegies I have on hand in a separate pan. Toss this vegie mixture into the finished quinoa and eat it as a side dish, poured on top of a kale salad,” Meghan added.

Then at 4pm Meghan will often have a green juice as a ‘pick-me-up’. “It’s easy to fall into the trap of rushing for a coffee when you hit that 4pm slump, but if I blend some apple, kale, spinach, lemon and ginger in my Vitamix, I always find that sipping on that is a much better boost than a cup of espresso,” Meghan reveals.

The duchess will then snack on hummus, carrots and crackers. “I like to assemble a small plate of crackers, like gluten-free herb crackers, hummus – try to make it yourself; it’s so easy – and some baby carrots,” she says.

Exercise-wise, it’s known that the mother-of-one is a big fan of yoga and she currently has her mother and yoga instructor Doria Ragland staying with her at their stately family home, Frogmore House, in Windsor.

“Yoga is my thing. My mum is a yoga instructor, and I started doing mummy-and-me yoga with her when I was 7.

I was very resistant as a kid, but she said, ‘Flower, you will find your practice – just give it time.’

“In college, I started doing it more regularly,” she says.

She’s also into Pilates and two or three times a week Meghan will use the Megaformer bed, which is an amped up version of the traditional Pilates Reformer bed.

“It’s hands down the best thing you could do for your body,” she says. “Your body changes immediately. Give it two classes and you will see a difference.”

Meghan also loves running but as she gets older, she finds it’s harder on her knees. “If I don’t have time for a long workout, I’ll grab my dog and go for a quick run,” she says.
