Meghan Markle left her friends, her mother and her job in the US to marry Prince Harry.
But, life as a royal may not be shaping up quite like Meghan expected and royal commentator, Angela Mollard suggests that she could be missing her friends back in the US.
One of her closest pals Serena Williams recently spoke out about her close friendship with the Duchess of Sussex.
Watch what she had to say here…
“I call her text her anytime crying upset she is always there. It doesn’t matter what she’s going through, she always sets time away, and she’s just so amazing,” Serena told Access Hollywood.
However, Angela believes that there could be more behind Serena’s comments than meets the eye.
“Does that sound to you like a woman who is a great mate or lonely?” Angela asks on New Idea’s podcast Royals.
“I’m venturing on lonely. She’s got connections with people like Victoria Beckham and Amal Clooney but they’re quite busy. I mean Amal’s sorting out the world’s legal problems, she’s not there to play coffee morning with Archie. Meghan, I think she needs her friends.
“I wonder who she is being supported by, she’s got these American friends, she’s got Jessica Mulroney, but she is in Canada.”
While Angela admits that technology has made having long distant friendships easier, she thinks it must be hard for Meghan to be so far away from her friends.
“I know social media and phone conversations are great but it’s not the same as having a friend sitting on your couch having a cup of herbal tea,” she says.
“I think she just doesn’t have that kind of life and I think that’s a lot of pressure on her and Harry and I think Serena’s comments about her availability speak volumes about her potential loneliness.”
