When she stepped out in Sydney on Oct. 26 in her stunning Oscar de la Renta princess gown, Meghan Markle – now the Duchess of Sussex – drew gasps of admiration from followers across the globe.
She looked every inch the Duchess as she joined Prince Harry at the Australian Geographic Society Awards at Sydney’s Shangri-La Hotel.

And according to some royal watchers, the dress was a reminder of another princess gown worn by another royal.
None other than Prince William’s wife Kate Middleton – now the Duchess of Cambridge.

While Meghan’s Oscar de la Renta gown was adorned with bird motifs, back in 2012, Duchess Kate wore a gorgeous custom-made Alexander McQueen gown embroidered with hibiscus flowers.

While Meghan and Harry have been on a 16-day tour Down Under, Kate and Prince William were on in Malaysia on their Jubilee tour.

Just as Meghan looked every inch the royal in her Oscar de la Renta gown, Duchess Kate glowed in her white and gold dress which she accessorised with gold earrings.
