Kate Middleton and Prince William’s third child is due in April, and many have been speculating as to who the royal couple will decide to fill the role of godparent.
According to a report by OK! Magazine, the duchess has given the prestigious position to future sister-in-law Meghan Markle.
The publication reports that the expecting mum asked Harry’s bride if she would fill the role.
‘She and Meghan get along so well already and Kate wants her to know how loved she is by the family,’ a palace insider told the publication. ‘It’s such a big honor – and Harry was overjoyed by the gesture too!’
OK! also reports that Her Majesty was not happy with the couple’s decision.
The publication claims that the 91-year-old monarch is said to have thought the decision was ‘hasty’, since Harry and Meghan have not yet wed.
But Kate ‘doesn’t really understand why the queen should object,’ and insider told OK! ‘It’s entirely sentimental.’
