During Harry and Meghan’s 16-day tour of Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga, the couple will travelling in areas that are deemed ‘moderate risk’ for the Zika virus

The mosquito-borne virus is present in both countries and medical authorities have strict guidelines about safety measures to protect pregnant women – and anyone planning a future pregnancy.

The often asymptomatic virus can be transmitted from a pregnant woman to her unborn child and all travellers are advised to practise safe sex or abstinence for six months after visiting affected areas as it can be sexually transmitted after infection.

Significantly, Harry and Meghan are not set to stay in any official residences of state governors during their Australian visit.

“A pregnant royal would always stay at an official residence due to royal and medical protocol. It’s clear something is wrong and Meghan will possibly pull out of the trip,” says the insider.

The Government advises pregnant women postpone non-essential travel until the end of their pregnancy, so seeing as the Duchess of Sussex has not postponed her Royal tour, many fans have taken that as a major clue she is holding off starting her family.
