Weighing in on the ongoing feud between the Sussexes and the Cambridges, royal historian and author Dr Anna Whitelock has spoken out, warning that Meghan and Harry’s domination of the media since their 2017 engagement is at risk of “challenging the popularity” of William and Kate.
“Before very long Prince William and Kate will be Prince and Princess of Wales. Harry and Meghan sort of undermining and challenging their popularity and status might just be a little bit too much,” Anna told Gayle King in an interview for her CBS TV news special Meghan and Harry Plus One.
But with Meghan and Harry recently welcoming their first child, Archie Harrison, they are unlikely to be out of the media gaze for some time.
And as Sarah Baxter, the deputy editor of the UK’s Sunday Times adds in the documentary: “The United Kingdom isn’t quite big enough for both households.”
