To return the favour, the president and the first lady hosted their own dinner at Winfield House in London for their British guests, and while the menu was heavily European so as to cater to guests English tastes, Trump couldn’t help but give the Brits a taste of America!

How did POTUS do this? He served American wine!

While the Prince of Wales enjoyed the European menu, he especially loved the choice of wine from California, as Charles and Donald seemed to bond over their mutual love of the pristine drop.

The wine served at the gathering was from a Californian winery that has supplied the White House and the US president for five consecutive presidential administrations.

Iron Horse Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are the winery’s “rising star”, and were poured, while guests also sipped a 2005 Brut Reserve.

Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, were representing Queen Elizabeth, who held a state banquet in honour of the US leader on Monday evening.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were not present at the dinner. Although – and with the exception fo Meghan Markle who is on maternity leave – all senior royal family members have met with Donald and Melania Trump, as well as daughter Ivanka Trump and husband Jared Kushner, over the three-day visit.

President Trump and the future King of England seemed to share a joke as they stood laughing together at the entrance of the house for photos.

Among the other guests invited to the dinner Mr Trump’s on Tuesday were Prime Minister Theresa May and her husband Philip, Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt and Cabinet Secretary Mark Sedwill.
